The department of Anesthesia & Critical care unit of SRGI&H is one of the most essential comprehensive and interdisciplinary center, serving the needs of the persons with disease and disorders
Our highly trained physician and specialists have innovative technologies and embraced the latest treatment techniques and procedures since we first opened our doors.
We provide various services like pre anesthetic check up, providing anesthesia for all surgical discipline in this hospital as well as providing post anesthetic care. We also give critical care support in 16 beded ICU

PRE ANESTHESTIC CHECK UP:
During preanesthetic check up we assess the patients physical condition and any other medical problems or disease the patient might be suffering from. The goal of the assessment is to identify factors that significantly increase the risk of complications and modify the procedure appropriately. The aim is to identify the appropriate anesthetic techniques to be used to ensure the safety of preoperative care, optimal resource use, improve outcomes and patients satisfaction while considering the individual and person related risk factors and circumstances. Pre anesthetic assessment involves the consideration of information from various sources that includes the past medical records, interview, physical examination (e.g.-airway assessment including ASA grading, Mallampati scoring) as well as results from medical and laboratory tests.

Anesthesia during various types of surgical procedure like:
1. Whipples surgery Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
2.Open Cholecystectomy
3. Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
4. Hepatic Lobectomy
5.Roux en Y procedure
6.resection and anastomosis of small intestine
7.Different paediatric GI anomaly cases

SERVICES THAT WE ARE PROVIDING IN ENDOSCOPY/COLONOSCOPY/ERCP
We provide day case anesthesia in different procedure venue like endoscopy suit, colonoscopy suit as well as ERCP suit.
Procedures that we give anesthesia are—
1.Awake sedation during ERCP
2.Endoscopic dilation
3.Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS)
4.Enteroscopy
5.Endoscopic procedure in children etc
Aim to give anesthesia in above mentioned procedure is mainly for better outcome as well as patient’s satisfaction.
INTENSIVE CARE UNIT/CRITICAL CARE UNIT:
In ICU we give the specialized treatment to patient who are actually unwell and require critical care. Our ICU has multidisciplinary team made up of highly skilled intensive care giver doctors, nurses , technicians and patient care attendant (PCA/ward boy) who provides critical care for patients with the variety of medical, surgical and trauma conditions.
In intensive care unit we have 16 beded facilities and among them 2 are exclusively provided for the patient having kidney diseases providing them dialysis for restoration of normal body physiology. We provide all critically ill patients by a group of energetic, enthusiastic and devoted doctors. Treatment of various critical disease like—
Sepsis with shock
Severe pneumonia
Hepatic encephalopathy
End stage Pancreatic diseases
Stroke
AKI/MODS etc are provided by us.
ICU SERVICES DURING COVID 19
Now a days after this pandemic out of Corona since the year 2020,we are serving as front line fighter dealing the critically ill patient e.g.-ARDS patient in ICU.
